I take many pictures. Things catch my eye. Colors & structures.  Reflections & textures. My family is used to waiting while I capture those things.  I paint from them. I use them to construct collages. I absorb these details. I doesn't know when an element might be useful  ...  but things shine through when needed.

Marty Sedestrom Guthrie was born in Bay City, Michigan. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in printmaking and painting from the University of Michigan. She lives and works in Richmond, Virginia.

Her work is in private collections in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Finland.
